http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=cheap-fish-tank-#1
Why are some tanks expensive, why are some fish tanks cheap? Does it have anything to do with glass structure, if they’re for freshwater or saltwater fish, or even used glue? I would like to hear your experiences about price per litre/gallon, so that we can easily compare prices depending on state or country. In my experience, some exporters raise prices up instead of beating them down. Why do stores do so if quality is almost the same like of cheaper solutions?
I’ve seen prices varying around $0.3-$0.35 per 1 litre. If I wanted to buy a 1000 litre tank, I’d pay $300-$350 what’s quite enough in my opinion. Do cheap fish tanks have similar warranty like expensive ones?
Thanks for your answers .

Hi Guy,
1 litre of fish tank costs $0.5 where I’m living. But as you go higher, cost per litre lowers. If memory serves, it’s $0.5 for 0-100 litres aquarium, $0.4 for 101-300 litres tank and $0.3 for 301+ litres tank.
But let’s get back to your questions. Firstly, price depends on country and each shop a lot. Some shops offer lifetime warranty, some don’t. I’ve seen firms which provide $200 000 warranty, so that if your tank sprung a leak and overall damage is less or equal $200 000, you will get such money from that firm.
However, there are people who build tanks at home and their skills are professional too. But I wouldn’t prefer such solution, since you don’t have any warranty.
In order to prevent tank from making damages to your house or flat, use strong tank stand along quality face.

hi Guy, I would like to recommend you quality tanks. cheap aquariums usually lack in quality and their reliability isn’t at high level. I personally don’t prefer tanks from supermarkets or other ’all in all’ shops. they are full of scratches and such "details". when I had cheap tank it took 2 years until it sprung a leak. you can picture my floor and carpet easily. fortunately I live in house, so that I didn’t caused any flood to my neighbours .
