This was great, but of the 30-40 eggs? I have two fry, the rest succumed to fungus. I tried to remove the bad ones but was not successfull. The local lfs suggested tetracyclene to no success. Are there any ways to got that have more success. original post: December 20, 2006, 7:03 pm anonymous 2008-05-01 Answer no. 1 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=fungus-solution#2 Hi, I keep this species from the very beggining and even if I didn’t try to breed them, I have a Bristle-nose farm . There’s only one important thing: Your water must be aerated and filtered enough, so no egg will become turn to fungus. Do you use filter in your breeding tank? My plecos spawn in caves only and even if filter is not able to filter the water inside of these caves, overall water quality is good enough, so there are about 30-50 newborns each time they spawn. Bear in mind, that some of newborns will not survive first weeks . It’s very sad to see some of them dying, since they’re very small and beautiful. Also, make sure the filter will not suck them. Otherwise, you should clean the foam very wisely. Check this http://www.aqua-fish.net/show.php?cur_lang=2&what=article&id=21 for some info about their needs. jan 2008-05-01
