Can anyone guide me with algae eaters. For some reason, they keep dying on me. I have taken water samples and are found to be alright. They last for a couple of days and by the time I know it, they are gone. What should I do?

I have to ask the obvious question here, but is there plenty of algae for them to graze on in the tank.
Is the tank a fairly new set up as most algae eaters fair better in a mature tank.
Try adding some algae wafers for them to eat and see if that helps.

Thanks for your response. I have had my 55 gal. aquarium for about 2 yrs and this keeps happening. I have also tried the algae wafers and the other fish keep eating them. By the way, I have about 6 koi fish ranging from small to large.
