You have a lot of light and low phosphorus. If you want to try fertilize by phosphorus be very carefull. A high amount of phosphorus can help to explode grow another algae. Gonna try it. RE second question... Yes, I have tried many times to remove them, but am unable to. anonymous 2008-05-01 Answer no. 4 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=green-spots-on-my-tank#5 Hmm, well they are definitely diatoms or colonies of radiolaria. They are basically composed of calcium and silica and are very very difficult to remove. I have similar problem with my tank, but they are not harmful to the environment of my tank, so I just avoid them, don’t scrub too hard to scratch the glass, so I guess you should do the same, or if you find anything that will help you in removing them, please let me know.
