Someone help!!! original post: April 21, 2007, 7:23 pm big_sis 2008-05-03 Answer no. 1 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=what-kind-of-fish-can-i-put-with-my-betta-#2 Hello , You can use Paradise fish, Gouramis (gold, blue, dwarf, and all gouramis which don’t grow larger than 10-12 cm in length). As you said, Guppies are fine too. Consider some catfish species. Tetras are fine, but they may nip bettas’ tails. Platies should be fine too . jan 2008-05-03 Answer no. 3 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=what-kind-of-fish-can-i-put-with-my-betta-#4 thanks!!! big_sis 2008-05-03 Answer no. 4 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=what-kind-of-fish-can-i-put-with-my-betta-#5 I came across this website looking for this same answer. I'd like to know how it turned out with your quest to add a tankmate with your betta? I currently have a male betta seperate and sometimes I feel he is lonely. I have a large 30 gallonish in my living room with mollies and platys, 6 total. Any thoughts on me adding my betta to my 30 gallon? It would be 7 total in that tank if I added the betta, but I wouldnt be adding anymore at all. Is that too much. I know the others will grow a bit, but it just seems roomy and spacious in there. jenna1221 2009-11-17 Answer no. 5 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=what-kind-of-fish-can-i-put-with-my-betta-#6 The Betta will be fine with them, add some Corydoras for bottom dwellers mickey 2009-12-04 Answer no. 6 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=what-kind-of-fish-can-i-put-with-my-betta-#7 To make sure that your fighter fish betta gets happy with how you place him in any of your betta fish tanks, you must make sure that you are going to let him dive with middle swimmers and bottom dwellers. This is because this fish pet of your likes to swim near the surface in order to breathe every once in a while. Your best bet is picking sturdy but non-aggressive swimmers like slower tetras, cherry barbs, guppies, white clouds, cory cats, and platys among others. islabucasgrande 2010-03-31 Answer no. 7 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=what-kind-of-fish-can-i-put-with-my-betta-#8 I've a beautiful male bette in a 55 gallon tank. All of his tank mates are tetra ( mostly Cardinal tetra) some rummy nose and your typical bottom dwellers ( clown loaches, cory's etc) HTH Aquaticz Aquaticz 2010-04-02 Answer no. 8 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=what-kind-of-fish-can-i-put-with-my-betta-#9 guppies are a nono, I have kept them with bettas before and the betta sees the guppies at competition and attacks the males. white clouds would be fine except they need much cooler temperatures. Your best bet is smaller tetras, like neons, blues, cardinals etc. bottom feeders like corydora should be fine. barbs can be a little too boisterous, nipping at a betta, and never put a betta in with mollies since they have been known to nip and nip until the betta gets an infetion and dies. I keep my bettas in a tank by themself. He is very happy, and I use different stimuli eg. different decorations, plants, different frozen foods etc to enhance his solitary life. weirdartist 2010-04-11
