It is my opinion that they are even easier to breed than guppies and platys. All you need is one male and one female. They aren't at all particular on who their mate is. I have 4 convicts, 2 males and 2 females. Each of the males has bred with each of the females at least once. They guard their own eggs and fry and the fry eat bits and pieces of what I feed the parents. How can it get any easier than that. After about two months I remove the babies to their own nursery so that the parents don't get bored with protecting them. That's when they get eaten by tankmates. meliss_cole 2008-05-07 Answer no. 1 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=convict-breeding#2 have bred convicts in the past,my male was a right nasty bleeder though, felt sorry for the female being harassed all the time mickey 2008-05-07
