I kept them in such temperatures during last and last-but-one summer. They were reproducing too . Actually the cocoons need higher temperatures, otherwise the small snails will not get out of the cocoon. For example, if you have 25°C in the aquarium, but the air is 21°C, then there is a big chance that only 1-2% of small snails survive. jan 2008-05-27 Answer no. 2 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=apple-mystery-snails#3 thanks jan, wouldn't want to put them in if they were going to suffer. now I know I will get a group to do a cleaning job mickey 2008-05-28 Answer no. 3 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=apple-mystery-snails#4 They sure do get huge though, I wouldn't want too many. I have one apple snail that is as large as a tangerine and the other one is only a little smaller. Also have two mystery snails that are about the size of a golf ball. They aren't great at cleaning algae, but even if they were, the mess that they add to the tank sorta takes away whatever cleaning job they do! BeavisMom62 2010-03-21
