It has gotten to the top of water level and surpased it five inches . All the info sites say it can be grown from seeds , but there's nothing on them about producing a flower in my tank. Can it be done ? I would like to propagate this way for my local clubs award program. Also can the flower pollinate itself or will i have to grow two . I was raised on a farm so i know some plants require an unrelated partener. anabanman 2008-07-03 Answer no. 1 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=flower-power-#2 but there's nothing on them about producing a flower in my tank. Can it be done ? Hardly. Just like Pistia Stratoites; they reproduce by seeds and thus, flowers. But it is very rare in tanks. Actually, I grew such Pistias, I used ordinary incandescent light bulbs of 50W / 25x50 cm of water surface, and they shown flowers. However, ordinary neon bulbs designed for aquariums aren't good enough for Pistias. So my suggestion... Try different types of lighting. last modification by jan jan 2008-07-06
