We have a 55 gallon tank with two tins, a loach, and some tiger barbs. We just added six little tiger barbs, a clown loach, and a rainbow shark. The clown loach has ich. One of the baby tiger barbs lost his color and treads water all alone in a plant facing down. He looks like he is having problems breathing. The original tiger barb which is huge is starting to look down and swim weird now too. The rainbow shark also is facing south in the tank and not very active. What can I do to get rid of the ich on the clown? Do you think the other tiger barbs and rainbow shark have ich too or something else? What can I do? I am planning on doing a 20% water change tomorrow and taking the little tiger barb out. He hasn't eaten anything today and looks bad. I hope I can get some answers. The guy at the local fish store said the little tiger barb sounds like he is just getting picked on and needs to stay in. Good advice? Thanks

right t start with clown loaches need to be kept in a small group of at least 3 fish. They are not happy when they are the only clown loach in the tank.
There are several ich medications available, the one I normally use is the Interpet Whitespot treatment.
After you have treated the tank add some carbon to your filter and do a large water change.
If you are keeping six tiger barbs together they will sort out their problems eventually.

There are several things you can do.
once, test your water, and make sure everything is in order.
two, if you can, medical baths/dips are the best route to go as most med that will kill the parasite, will also harm your biological filtration.
Malachite Green, Formalin, Copper, Praziquantel will all treat the infection.
praziquantel is probably the best way to go for you if you cannot have time for dips. its the least damaging to your biofilter. hikari makes a medication using it called "PraziPro"
