I don't think the female is holding her eggs in her mouth anymore, I can not see them and I could before. gallo259 2009-03-09 Answer no. 3 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=new-member____#4 How long do you think she was holding them for, if its longer than 3 weeks she may have released them into the tank. mickey 2009-03-10 Answer no. 4 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=new-member____#5 She only had them in her mouth since friday march 6, we actually got to witness the mating dance they were doing and her gathering up the eggs, it was pretty interesting. I'll be watching them a little closer now. I still haven't found out what kind they are yet still working on it. Mike gallo259 2009-03-11 Answer no. 5 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=new-member____#6 OK I found out what kind they were they are a mixure of malawi cichlids :electric yellow labs, red zebra, bumble bee cichlids, and one powder blue. I put a tank divider in the tank and friday I beleive it will be 3 week. Will the mother eat the babies if she has them? When should i take her out? Thanks Mike gallo259 2009-03-18 Answer no. 8 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=new-member____#9 I used to breed SA cichlids but be careful about moving the female as she may get stressed and eat the eggs/fry. TH eother problem you have is that if she is seperated for too long from the other fish she will have to re-establish herself in the pecking order. The fry are normally in the mouth for a week after they have hatched mickey 2009-03-19
