Can take up to 6 batches before they get it right especially if they were seperated from their parents when they were fry. mickey 2009-04-18 Answer no. 3 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=angle-fish#4 yes its there 2nd batch so i will keep i close eye on them when they have more thank you for this info gonemad 2009-04-20 Answer no. 4 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=angle-fish#5 Not a problem, I had some pairs of Angels trhat took toparenting straight away but othere pairs just couldnt get the hang of it so I moved their eggs to another tank and raised them artificially mickey 2009-04-21 Answer no. 5 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=angle-fish#6 ok do u think if i move the parents to anouther tank when they lay again the eggs may have more of a chance ? gonemad 2009-04-22 Answer no. 6 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=angle-fish#7 I havent kept angelfish myself, however generally with fish, especially new partners/1st timers I would say that the first batch isnt usually too successful, often some eggs arent fertalised or the parents dont react properly, unless you are desperate to breed them now, it might be worth giving them one more chance to see if they are fully successful or more successful than last time. Again though, im no expert with this species. good luck! weirdartist 2009-04-22 Answer no. 7 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=angle-fish#8 If you move the parents then the eggs will have more of a chance but you need to replicate the fanning of the parents so place an airstone blowing gently underneath them to keep the water moving. The only problem with this is that if you move the parents each time, they will not learn how to care for the young so in your case I would be patient and let them sort it out themselves. mickey 2009-04-22 Answer no. 8 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=angle-fish#9 my angel fish layed eggs last night, so excited ! this morning all gone silly fish ate them all up, but she is still protecting the site? yvonne 2009-04-25 Answer no. 9 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=angle-fish#10 Hi everyone, I have a full grown marble angelfish who just recently lost it's life time friend, a silver w/black stripes. He is very friendly with me and lets me know when he wants a treat or just a "hello"! I feel bad he does not have a mate or "friend" to be with in the tank. I bought another baby angel, but it died 2 days after. It was new to the store that day, I didn't think it would make it and unfortunately I was right. Can anyone tell me what type of fish would befriend my Angel to give him company? I can not find any Large Angels in my area, South Jersey. I was thinking of a Blue Gourami, am I wrong? Please help !! If I could shrink down I would jump in with him !! My tank is 30 gallons with 2 green cats, 2 red tetras, 1 old glass fish and 2 zebras. I really want him to live his last days happy. He is about 10 years old. Thanks, Zubydoo zubydoo 2009-05-05 Answer no. 10 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=angle-fish#11 Im not surprised that the angel you bought died if it was sold on its first day in there, they are supposed to keep the fish in quarantine for a couple of weeks to check for infections and give the fish time to settle down. Blue Gouramis and Angels will fight, they can both be aggressive. I would bide your time and wait for another angel to come along but preferably not one that the store received that day mickey 2009-05-05 Answer no. 11 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=angle-fish#12 don't angel fish pair for life? if this is so wouldnt zubydoo be better of leaveing him on his own ? mightnt he try to kill any intrurder? yvonne 2009-05-05 Answer no. 12 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=angle-fish#13 I have paired up angels in the past that have lost their partners, it is a gamble and a point that you have just reminded me of Aquainting a male with a new female is easier than vice versa mickey 2009-05-05 Answer no. 13 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=angle-fish#14 Thanks for the input fellow "fishermen" !! I guess I'll keep looking for another larger female. I also was surprised to hear that they were selling the same day as shipment. It was at a Pet Smart, so watch out and go with your gut, not the "very young" sales people ! zubydoo 2009-05-05
