http://forum.aqua-fish.net/ A forum devoted to aquarium fish, plants, techniques and fish keeping as a whole. en http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=400-litre-tank#1 i just bought a huge around the corner tank, 400 litres, something like 100 gallons. and im just working on which fish to buy while i cycle and buy the filters and all the rest. i visit the pet stores around once a week and have from this worked out which of the fish i really would like to have, and from reading up, i know a bit about who i can and cant keep. but its always good to hear from actual people with experience. So heres my list of fish, if anyone can give me some advice on my choices this would be great! Golden Ancistrus Bristlenoses, and Zebra Plecos. Albino Kribensis (and maybe some regular colours if i have the space) Neons, cardinals and/or glow lights. this depends on if they will be stressed by some of my bigger choices. not at the top of my list but i would like to have a colourful shoal someday. Panda and adolfoi cories, second place to the bristlenoses and zebras but some i have liked for a long time, permitting i have enough ground area for them all. Red tail, but i know that this is unlikely for the community tank, just wanted to throw him in the list so he does not feel left out, remarkable to watch swimming around though. Flame and Neon Blue Dwarf Gouramis. The blue one is possibly my real feature fish as i love the colour. have always liked this one. Electric Blue jack dempsey. probably am not going to get one cause so expensive but i love the colours of them and almost wanted to give up all fish and just keep the one EBJD for the beauty of him. But i have since contented myself with the fact that the Dwarf in blue is going to look just as awesome. Rams. German blue of course. they would join the tank later when i have a more mature filter going for them, and when i can find some in really good condition. Potentially a yellow algae eater, but this is not a must have, just like how quirky they are. so if anyone can give me any input into the tank please do. theres quite a few months to go before i start to stock them. i know all the grouping levels like at least 6 neons or cories in a shoal... theres going to be heaps of decorations in the tank for territories to be established and im quite sure ill introduce new hidey holes with each new lot of fish to help the territorial process, im not sure if that works, but at least fish number 1 can not claim every single decoration. also i have some decor that came with the tank, it feels quite rough, just plaster fishes and plants like that, theyre fairly rough and i am wondering if this would hurt my bristlenoses at all, should i leave them out of the tank or will they just steer clear if they dont like the texture? thanks for reading, appreciate any help! With the Tetras I tend to avoid the neons, they are being bred badly nowadays and most of the fish are not in the best of health when they are sold on so they are short lived. As for cardinals and glowlights they are my two favourite Tetras.
