The size of my tank is 90x65x50 cm. It's located on my porch that is facing to the SE, so it gets sunlight (direct or indirect) everyday for about 12 hours a day (oh I lived in Indonesia, southeast Asia) The problems is algeas (green algae, fuzz algae and beard algae) grow really fast. It'll be very time consuming for me to clean it every 3 days. I've added a canister tank filter, but It doesn't help much. I have talked to some local aquarist here and their recommendations are to move the tank inside the house. The problem is, I don't have the space inside. Is there any other solutions you can recommend? Oh I forgot to mention, I Use my aquarium for aqua-scape. I planted java moss and glossostigma elatinoides only. For fish I only have a 8 neons and 3 corydoras. Are corydoras could give problem with my plants? Thank you so much in advance for your input. Sincerely Harris. They have helped me with algae issues (when algae was caused by direct sunlight). jan 2011-10-19 Answer no. 2 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=how-to-prevent-too-much-algae-#3 spam removed last modification by jan criuscidly 2011-11-18 Answer no. 3 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=how-to-prevent-too-much-algae-#4 Sorry, it took me a while to reply. Thank you so much for the great site and your reply. I have 2 corydoras but they always dig on the gravel and make a mess of the plants (glossostigma elatinoides). The next day after I planted them, most of the plants are floating on the surface of the tank. Does Siamese fish will do the same? Coz from the looks of it, it looks like they are family related. Thank you again in advance. Kamto 2011-11-24 Answer no. 4 http://forum.aqua-fish.net/?topic=how-to-prevent-too-much-algae-#5 You have to increase height of substrate or place the plant deeper. Siamese algae eaters may dig in the gravel too, but they spend more time eating algae from leaves. last modification by jan jan 2011-11-25
