Buying Marine corals and fish unless captive bred and grown, is damaging Coral reefs and is not good for the enviroment Sad sure they look better, but they look even better in the wild Wink . Be Green Love and buy freshwater fish and plants that now are basically all about 4-5 generations of captive bred fish which is no harm to the enviroment.

I agree with you completely ;). What’s another advantage of freshwater tanks, is that they’re usually easy to maintain and are "wallet-friendly" Laugh . Only Ram’s Horn Snails don’t live in saltwater aquariums Tongue .

Yes, I am very busy. So accept my apologies since I cannot visit this forum too much. But I'll do my best because I own this website Biggrin .

most corals nowadays are aquacultured on coral farms and most marine keepers will enquire where the corals have come from.Plus with advances in reef keeping more and more varities of marine fish are being tank bred,TMC are investing millions into this project.
There are dodgy dealers about who plunder the reefs but thankfully there are dying out very quickly

I've gone into marine fish stores as divers, still wearing their wet suits strolled in next to me holding their buckets with newly caught fish in it. Angry

luckily we don't get that in England. All of the fish stores have to buy from licensed suppliers. They would not risk losing them by buying dodgy fish plundered from the reef.

I totally disagree!!!!! I have a 55 gallon saltwater fish tank and I say go for it. it is really fun and there will be plenty of fish to go around!! plus people try very hard not to damage the reefs!
