Hello everybody. I'm starting a new tank (125 gallon) and I've gotten ALL my fish to go in it, I have a bunch of "babies" ready to go into it. (3 Purple Rose Queens, 3 Red Devils, 2 Flowerhorns, 2 Texas Cichlids, 1 Pleco) I am ecstatic!!! Is it a certain time when RD's and PRQ's turn colors??? Everybody says when they "mature", that's not it because I see them in the store very small and have already turned colors, well not PRQ's. I was feeding them black worms and 1 of the RD's is turning but now I stopped and am feeding them Tetra Rich Mix flakes and it looks as if the process has slowed down some on the one who was turning. Does this have anything to do with it??? I can't wait to put them in my 125 and they get situated!!!

colouration in the fish can depend on the diet, it can alter with age or if a fish is getting ready to mate. Basically with some fish they colour up dependant on their moods.
