common names include rummy nose,red nose,firehead tetra
scientific name- hemigrammus bleheri

adult size- 2"
origin- south america
preferred set up- planted tanks with swimming space
compatibility- community,peaceful with other tetras
temperature- 22c-26c
ph- 6.0-7.0
will eat flake foods as well as pellets,live foods
male fish are smaller and slimmer than the females
best kept in groups of 10 as they are a shoaling fish

Just for fun, there are at least two species called Rummy Nose Tetra.

Hemigrammus bleheri (http://www.aqua-fish.net/show.php?h=rummynosetetra) as mentioned above, and Hemigrammus rhodostomus (http://www.aqua-fish.net/show.php?h=rummynosetetra1). Of course, these fish have more common names in my opinion...

correct Jan, the other species is also known as the false rummy nose-scientific name petitella georgiae
