Siamese Algae Eater breeding?

I have a pair of Siamese Algae Eaters. They get along fine with the other fish in the tank and with each other. About 4 days ago, I moved them all into a larger aquarium. One of the decorative items I put in the new tank just happens to have an opening in it, bit enough for both SAE's to fit inside easily. Both of my SAE's took over this "cave" and now, one stays inside most of the time, and the other appears to be "guarding" the opening. They are not aggressive in any way toward the other fish in the tank, but it looks for all the world like they may be breeding. I have seen no aggressive actions from either fish towards each other either. It looks more like they have literally set up "housekeeping" in this cave like opening. Is this unusual for SAE's? Help!
