the water should come from the same source each time if poss.A slight variation of ph will not kill the fish as a partial water change should not affect it too much. Major changes in ph can lead to gill burning if dropped too quick, or osmotic shock if raised too quick. http://www.fishtankforum.co.uk

pH not ph (just a little pet hate) the pH can be measured easliy with a testing kit available at all aquatic stores or online, this can be adjusted by using a commercial pH adjuster sush as PH-UP but these do contain phosphates, you can also adjust the pH by using a Reverse Osmosis sytem http://www.fishtankforum.co.uk
