I have an 80 gal display tank with no fish in yet, i will stock the tank with discus and tetras. Is it true that Peat moss will reduce the PH of the water? if so will it continuously do it; will i have to remove it? will carbon remove the yellowish tint that Peat produces in the water?

why do you think that you need to reduce the pH of the water?

discus can live in a pH of 7.0, years ago it was the done thing to keep them in a lower pH of 6.5 but many of the tank bred starins do not need this.

What is your current pH?
