I have a four inch long birchir who eats anything I put in his tank including the tropical fish flakes, he also gets three cubes of bloodworms two to three times a week ( that many because I have a lot of other fish in there too). he eats and eats but is not growing - I have had him for three months and no growth - we started with a ten gallon tank for the first month but now have a 55 gallon after some reading up on how big he should get.

Why is he not growing? Is it time for live food?

I had a Mollie that had babies about a month ago and was only able to save one who got sucked up by my filter and so the rest of the babies are gone - I know they will eat their own young but he probably got a few of them.

I have about 17 fish in the tank with him right now and the largest is a five inch tall ( with the fins) angel and the smallest being two platy's, He isn't looking at my male platy like he's next on the dinner plate but I was told they can grow to full length in a matter of months....But mine isn't.

Try feeding him with chopped cockles, mussels and small pieces of filleted fish. Also try worming him just in case he has them
