I would recommend from past experience that Kuhli loaches should have a seperate tank for breeding as there eggs are eaten very quickly and so are there fry.(basically before you get to catch them). Also I would recommend a sand bottom tank with plenty of cover such as bogwood or rocks,and regular feeding.
There is no clear difference between male and female kuhlis so to breed these fish a recommend that you have a fair few maybe 8-10(the more the merrier).

Breeding: You can tell when you have likely breeders. Ripe (ready to spawn) female kuhlis plump up with eggs. The males and females cavort amongst the floating watersprite. She lays some 1,000+ green eggs, so you know the fry need tiny food (infusoria) to keep their motors running.
