How can we know that the goldfish is full and does not require any more food?

Hi Matt

Fish stop eating when they are full. You might have noticed that sometimes it seems that a fish is eating, but if you take closer look, they are just sucking on food and then spit it out, so when your fish is spitting out food like this, this means that your fish is full.

Hi Matt.

Just a little piece of advice, please drop a little bit of food at a time and after your fish has eaten all of it, then go ahead and drop some more. In this way you will not end up with a polluted aquarium.

Not all fish stop eatting when they are full. I had a few fish in my lifetime that have been so eager to catch every piece of falling food that they ended up dying of gluttony. It was so bad that one fish even attacked the other fish as they were trying to eat. He was so swollen in the belly area that it was no surprise when I found him dead one day. Dead

fish will eat,eat then eat more.Keep their diet restricted, smaller meals twice a day is better than one large one.

goldfish will eat til they die!! They dont know when to stop, but some will stop when full,so you need to only feed small amounts a few times a day as we humans should do as well. And its healthy for your fish to not eat everyday... in the wild they dont some times for days eat so its ok to miss one day aweek. If fact its good for them.
