I have a mixed community tank with discus, rummy noses , neon and one ram, plus a lot of catfish. The tank is also very heavily planted with a lot of water sprite on top of the water. There appears to be a lot of white to tan color dots jumping at the edge of the water. Does any one know what they are and how to get rid of them? Please help? I don’t know if they are safe or not to keep around? Thank you!

They are organisms which live in still waters. I don’t know their name but they can be seen in tanks with low filtration. This doesn’t mean your filter is bad, just some places are characterised by low or even none filtration and water current.

They are not dangerous, and fish love to eat them in my experience. If you want to kill them, just replace some plants and let your filter do it’s job in the entire tank.

Yes, I am very busy. So accept my apologies since I cannot visit this forum too much. But I'll do my best because I own this website Biggrin .
