Hello from Tennessee, USA!

I have enjoyed reading many of Jan’s articles!
I keep "natural aquariums". I currently have 9 tanks. They are all only filtered w/ live plants. All of them sit by windows, so I get wonderful natural light to bring out the natural colors of the plants and tank inhabitants. I keep various freshwater tropical fish, and inverts. See some of the apple snails I have had here: http://www.advancemetalfab.com/Aquaria/Applesnails.html (link made active by admin)

HiSmile,

Nice snails I must say. At old ages I kept many such snails (they were breeding in my aquariums), but later they all died. I can’t explain it because fish were fine... just snails died. Anyway hello Biggrin .
the developer of http://www.aqua-fish.net Cool

Yes, I am very busy. So accept my apologies since I cannot visit this forum too much. But I'll do my best because I own this website Biggrin .

Hi fishlady Wink . I love your pictures where the snail is laying eggs!!! Wow! Do u have any articles written? Share your urls or post your ideas inside of this forum, pls. I have been thinking of fish bowls without mechanical filtration for a long time, however I did not realize such idea yet. Just because I don’t know everything.

Thanks for your replies/ comments. Jan, the apple snails are so slow that if you have alot of other smaller snails (like pond or ramshorn) they will be out competed for food. They may literally starve to death. This species doesn’t eat healthy plants, so if they don’t get fish food, they will be hungry.

Zuzana, I haven’t written any articles, but I do post regularly on a few aquatic forums. I am also an administrator of the NA forum. (NaturalAquariums.com)

Look forward to talking more to you here, too!

Marty
