have a 12 gallon saltwater aquarium with 3 blue/green chromis, one clown fish, and a small red starfish. I’ve had them for about one month and all was going well. Two days ago my fish began acting odd. Two of the chromis are staying at the top of the tank, and the clown is staying on the bottom. They all usually swim in and out of the live rock and interact with each other. I thought that maybe the one other that is still doing well may be bullying the others. Today I discovered that one fish has a wound on his side. It looks as if he was bitten. The other has torn fins. But when i went to feed them I noticed a large amount of green algae in the tank.
I’m wondering if one fish is hurting the others, or if the green algae in there is making them sick very quickly. Either way, what do I do? I don’t have a quarantine tank set up or anything.
