Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the site, I only just came across it today and was amazed at all of the information to be found here. I am relatively new to keeping fish. My brother got me a tiny little Oscar for Christmas and I fell in love! "Fiddy" is now 20cms and thriving! I have since purchased a 6ft tank and created a DIY 3D rock background from polystyrene and cement. The tank looks amazing! I have a few different cichlids including Blue Acara, Maingano, Zebra, Oscars and what I think may be a Red Devil. I also have Tandanus Catfish, Clown Loach and Silver Shark. Apart from the usual "New Tank" teething problems, everything is coming along well and finally starting to stabilize. I have been amazed at what a gentle giant my Oscar really is, after being raised as an only fish in a small tank, he has really taken to life in a communal tank. He is endlessly curious about his new friends and although it goes against all of the information I have read on Oscars, he has never once tried to eat the little cichlids that he so easily could if he wanted to or shown any aggression towards any of the other fish in the tank! He did show the Devil who was boss for a few days, but now they seem to get along well.

I look forward from learning a whole lot more from you all :)

Cheers,

Bree
