Today I moved 4 neon tetras and some guppies and zebras into a larger tank. All fish seem to be acclimating to the new enviornment very well except for the smallest neon tetra. His red and blue colors have noticeably faded and he's kind of hovering and not quite as active as the others. Are these just temporary stress symptoms to the new enviornment or are they signs of disease? It's been about 5 hours since moving them to the larger tank. I don't want to remove him, but I also don't want the other fish to get infected if it happens to be a disease. I would appreciate some advice. Thanks! Scott

Hi Scott, seems to be stress. It should be gone in a day or two. BTW, neon tetras should be kept in groups of 10 specimens at least.

Yes, I am very busy. So accept my apologies since I cannot visit this forum too much. But I'll do my best because I own this website Biggrin .

as Jan has posted , just keep an eye on the fish, neons are very sensitive to change, they are classed as a timid tetra so should be given lots of TLC.
stress will make them fade in the colouration, but they are a shoaling tetra as Jan has said at least 10 in the shoal to make them feel secure.
Being the smallest fish he might be a bit insecure anyway, give him some more mates Wink
