hi there. I am currently keeping discuss for the first time after several years of keeping tropical fish. I am a complete amatuer in keeping theese fish but wanted somthing more challenging than gouramis. I have 2 mature discuss in the tank and was unaware of their sex but have since confirmed one is female as it has layed eggs. Can anyone advise me as to what to look for in sexing the second fish, yes i realise that if they have babies it would be fair to say its male. I have observed that the female is very tolerant of the other fish allowing it to hang as close as an inch away from her cluster. I would love any advice on this subject and hope to keep you all updated, thanks

There is no way of sexing Discus unless they are spawning, when the tubes are displayed prior to laying the eggs the females tube will be rounder and the males will be longer and pointed.
Discus are a shoaling fish and really need to be kept in small groups of at least 6
