I have two large red chiclids, called purple rose queens. They have laid eggs twice now, but we don't have a successful hatch yet. The convicts that live in the tank aren't eating them, I know, because they can't get close to the nest.
Some of the eggs are turning white, and I don't know what causes this color change. Can anyone give me tips on what to do?

Sounds like the eggs are either unfertilised or they are contracting fungus. It is best to keep your breeding pairs in a seperate tank. How old is the male as I reckon he may be a bit too young to be sexually mature. Females tend to mature quicker
