I’m interested into getting at least two pictus with maybe some middle of the tank catfish. Would a 36 gallon tank be big enough? What other fish would make good companions to the pictus? Thank you.

Randy

Hi Randy Wink ,

I would buy 40 or 50 Gallon tank instead. Tankmates: Some peaceful cichlids; Angelfish would be very good tankmate Wink .

Hi Randy,

I Wouldn't get what are considerd peaceful cichlids. I have electric yellow labido cichlids, which are the most peacful cichlids there are, and they are aggresive. I have 2 pictus cats in a 55 gallon and they get along great with the 2 bala sharks, silver dollors and common pleco.

PS: Bala sharks tend to nip each others fins, but nothing to worry about. Biggrin
