I set up my tank august 1st with a fair comet goldfish. We gave it to the pet store august 3rd and bought 5 guppies and 3 dalamtian mollies. Both female mollies had 30 or more babies each. I add a ammonia reducer pad inside my filter with the carbon cartridge. So my tank is a little over a week old. I've tested the water and find no ammonia, no nitrites or nitrates. The PH level is 7.8. All the fish are still alive, but the water still looks a little cloudy unless that's just my aquarium glass on the inside. I want to set up a breeding tank for the babies soon, but know the main tank isnt ready for a water change and I want to use some of the water from the main tank for the breeding tank or I might just cycle the tank without fish or water from the main tank. I was just wondering how long before my main tank will need a water change? I dont want the molly fry's to out grow the breeding net before I get a breeding tank set up, any ideas. Thanks Kristan
