Dear kant thanks for the new year wishes and lovely to feel your feelings for the fishes.I dont know if there is some problem in the site as I am unable to start a new topic even when I am signed in the system demands to sign in I dont know and also unable to sent the pics.But anyway I suppose I can get your help as you seem to be very enthusiastic in helping.Surya I have a planted tank of of sufficient size in which all the fishes are enjoying but every time I put platies in the tank they dont survive although I have heard it is the easiest variety to keep even suitable for newbies but my success with these beauties is zero.I reccently enquired about this with my LFS and he suggested that I need to put some salt in the tank but I am afraid it will harm the plants on the net I have seen many platies living in healthy planted tanks your comments and expert opinion please.

hey....... you are rite deres a prob wid d site......u can refresh ur page if the option for reply is not comin.......and to start a new topic go on search option and search to start a new topic.....and then a link will open for a new user....go on that and the forums will open and there will be the option to start a new topic but u can always continue in the same topic......

and for d platies u have to tell wich oder fishes are u keeping in the tank.......and if there is a problem of salt plzzzzzzzz remember..."dont use iodised salt" it really effects the fishes....use the salt wich is directly available from the sea shore in the form of small rocks..........it doesnot effect the plants tooo........are u havin any yahoo id or orkut id or any oder id so that we can remain in contact........we can be friends.....and yup u can ask for help any time...........take care....

Thats fine my yahoo id is dilawar_amjad@yahoo.co.uk and about the other fishes I already have mentioned them in My Crystal Clear Water topic you know well beside I recently added some 6 angels and 12 red eye tetra alongwith a couple of bunches of Cryptocoryne x willisii.

Hi Mickey the dimension of my tank are 6*2*1.5 Feet it is around 90 gallon the inhaitats are
- 6 medium size angels
- 2 adult clown loaches
- 12 red eye tetras
- 2 adult red gouramies
- 3 albino and 1 adult red tail sharks
- 7- medium size siamese algae eaters
- 4 sarpae tetras
- 2 adult albino corys
- 4 zebra danios
And the same is very well planted.I want to put some sword tail platies but had poor results in the past but I have witnessed these beauties in planted tank can anybody tell me what I am missing?
