I have recently got some snails for my aquarium and I wanted to know if somebody has ever tried feeding them with spinach or lettuce.

Thanks a lot. Wendy.

I have got snails too, but I don’t feed them with anything of this sort as you will just end up with a polluted tank.

hi wendy.

my snails like carrot too much. i keep apple snails and ramshorn ones. unlike many other aquarists i don’t recommend potatos.

beware of overpopulating the tank. especially ramshorns are very hardy and it’s nearly impossible to remove them from the tank.

I added snails to my tank as they are good algae eaters, but now the population of snails is increasing in my tank and I guess I have to shift to a bigger tank. Well, I just feed the snails with regular diet and don’t ever get into the hassle of feeding them with green leafy vegetables.

They eat everything what’s on the bottom. Normal fish food, carrot, etc.

Feed them organic lettuce or pes leaves they love, anything that is a soft leaf same as lettuce. If you have too many feed them to bigger fish such as goldfish and koi must be small enough to fit nicely in mouths. But they just eat any uneaten food your fish hasnt eaten. You must remove dead ones when there are more than 10 they ruin the water and cause convulsions and fungus on your fish.
