hello everyone i wonder if you can help me here my brother give me a fish tank. so i got some fish for it everything was fine in it until i noticed some of the fish stuck in the side of the side of the filter.
the filter im using now is a fluval under water filter. http://www.hagen.com/uk/publicity/aquatic/fluval_underwater.html

here is the filter im using just bought today cos of my other one was done i think now im not to sure wot settings im meant to have this at there a blue slider that goes from left to right could someone please explain to me what way this is meant to be please ive lost about 10 to 13 fish that got stuck in the sides of this filter...

could someone help me here please ...

Hi Colin.

Which kind of filter are you using? 1+, 2+, 3+ or 4+? How large is your tank? Which fish have troubles with the filter?

I think your filter is powerful too much in comparison to fish. I also count on that your fish are too small. If you kept larger fish they’d be safe.

Solution is to put something in front of the filter so it will minimize the chance of being sucked/stucked into the filter, or to buy less powerful filter.

fsih and now they are sitting @ the bottom of my tank ..
my filter is a fluval +2

Hm, tanks size and filter seems to be OK in my opinion. I would focus on potential disease in this case. Since I keep small fish and have very powerful filter in my tank, I can say it’s nearly impossible to suck any mature for a filter.

Do your fish have any symptoms? White spots, abnormal colouration/ excrements/ body changes?

hi ive 2 fish that survied the night ive the filter truned way down now and things seem ok for the time being my fish have no white spt on them @ all.
