I bought 3 blue cobalt dwarf gourami's approximately 2 inches in size. One quickly developed 3 large bumps (half and inch diameter, quarter inch protrusion outwards) on its abdomen and died. I assumed these were tumors as the lumps were definitly seperate entities, whereas I think bloat is a swelling of the entire abdomen.

Now, my concern is the second gourami which has developed a similar large bump and I thought it was going to have the same demise as the first fish. After 3-4 weeks, it is still alive! However, the bump is gone - but now there is a huge and deep ulceration.

I don't know what to do now besides assume this is an infection and therefore isolate the poor guy and treat with melafix and/or pimafix.

Any insights or suggestions?

The third gourami is very healthy and a nice blue colour!
