I have five white fin tetras, two females and three males or at least that is my guess because of their belly sizes. I have had them for about seven months in a seventy gallon aquarium. I was wondering how I would know when they are ready to spawn?

When females are ready to breed, their bellies become bigger than usual - this is caused by eggs. But first spawns don't have to be successful since presence of eggs don't mean that fish reached adult age.

You're saying that you keep them for 7 months. In my experience, fish which are sold in shops are 4-8 weeks old, so I suppose they're ready to spawn or they will be ready soon.

Yes, I am very busy. So accept my apologies since I cannot visit this forum too much. But I'll do my best because I own this website Biggrin .

If I were you, I would not hope that your tetras will bread... It is because you have only 5 of them and they need to be in shoal. I had even 10 black skirt tetras and they were too scared to breed. Only when I had 20 of them and had them in 300 liters big aquarim with lots of plants they breed.
