Had my 55 gal tank set up for about 10 months, my 3 year old is nuts on fish. Unfortunately for his birthday several people decided it would be a good idea to get him a new fish. All our fish currently seem healthy and happy but i`m worried in case the tank is or will become overcrowded. As a relative newby, although i`m trying to learn lol i`m listing the fish currently in the tank. Any advice would be great ie should i get a larger or second tank? or invest in a larger one? or will they be ok in there? approx size in inches 4 bala sharks 5, 4, 3,3 5 gouramis all around 3 7 danios Sponsored links

also 2 plecs, 10 neons and 2 pictus catfish (sorry i missed those off)

your bala sharks will be o.k. for now but they do grow big up to 14 inches in length. Gouramies will be o.k. as long as there is only one male in there It may be an idea in the future to set up a 100 gallon tank for the bala sharks maybe in 12 months Do you know which species of plec you have? http://www.fishtankforum.co.uk

Thanks for that mickey As far as i can tell there is only one male gouramis, as i read online that you can look at the dorsal fins to sex these fish. How fast do bala`s grow? The plecs are a bristlenose and a marbled sail fin

your BN will only grow to 5" max, should be the same with the sailfin. Bala are quiter slow growers so don't worry yet http://www.fishtankforum.co.uk
